The countrys premier operator of domestic passenger air services, Expo Aviation has the distinction of being the first private airline in Sri Lanka to be licensed for international cargo operations by the Sri Lankan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). A Board of Investment (BOI) of Sri Lanka approved Company with offices in Pakistan, India and Dubai, Expo Aviation uses its own aircraft to operate international cargo services to the Indian Sub Continent, Middle East, Central Asia and Africa. Expo Air & Srilankan Airlines entered into a Joint Venture Agreement in late 2008, where Expo Air offers a block space cargo capacity to Srilankan airlines for their Cargo. Expo Air tied up with Lufthansa in January 2009, to operate an IL-76 aircraft out of Dubai and Sharjah into destinations in Iraq & Afghanistan for Military Cargo. After its time sensitive cargo operations have been tested by the leading air carriers in the Middle East and Asia, Expo Air is seeing success in its aircraft on ground (AOG) support services and now aims at expanding to new horizons.
